** Seasonal Shop Coordinator Part-Time Seasonal Position | Up to 20 Hours per Week | $19/hour Salem Arts Association is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Seasonal Shop Coordinator to help create a welcoming and engaging experience for visitors, members, and artists during our busy summer and fall season. Responsibilities
• Open and close the gallery shop during scheduled shifts.
• Process sales using the point-of-sale system.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting retail environment.
• Greet visitors and provide information about exhibitions, artists, events, and membership opportunities.
• Support sales of artwork and retail merchandise.
• Assist with merchandising, inventory awareness, and display presentation.
• Promote member artists and help visitors connect with their work.
• Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to ensure consistent shop operations.
• The Shop Coordinator will report to the Director Qualifications
• Be able to run Square and sales reports as needed; must be comfortable using Square and Excel, with training available if needed.
• Retail, customer service, hospitality, or arts-related experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently.
• Interest in the arts and community engagement is a plus.
• Must be available to work weekends. Schedule Up to 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. Shifts will generally be scheduled WITHIN the following operating hours:
• Thursday & Friday: 4 PM–8 PM
• Saturday: 10 AM–7 PM
• Sunday: 10 AM–6 PM
