Visual Display and Merchandising Assistant

Peabody Essex Museum is seeking a Visual Display and Merchandising Assistant for the Marine Hall Mercantile and Main Museum Shop. This role is ideal for individuals with impeccable customer service skills, creative problem solving skills, and the ability to engage with the public in a Museum Shop sales environment. The primary role of this position is to develop, plan, and execute creative visual displays.

An interest in art and culture and a sense of fashion and personal style are helpful to the success in this role. General duties include point-of-sale checkout procedures, inventory replenishment, creating and maintaining engaging visual displays, direct sales, cash handling and other duties as needed.

Experience in the retail or service industry is a plus. This is a regular part-time position requiring up to 28 hours per week. Candidates must be available to work both weekday and weekend shifts, be able to stand for extended periods, and have the ability to lift up to 30 pounds. The hourly range for this role is $20.11 to $20.70 commensurate with experience.
