Security Officer

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Security Supervisor, the Officer performs duties as assigned to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, employees and assets on property owned or controlled by the North Shore Medical Center.

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid, current Driver’s License with satisfactory record as required by NSMC policy.
• CPR and First Aid certification within the first week of hire.
• Completion of restraint and de‑escalation training within 30 days of hire.
• Basic computer skills (may be obtained through on‑the‑job training).
• Effective communication and de‑escalation skills.
• Ability to build rapport, assist in lifting patients, stand/walk for extended periods, and physically restrain out‑of‑control individuals.
• Familiarity with regulations, basic enforcement statutes and Civil Code.

• Associate degree or higher in Police Science, Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice.
• Previous experience in Security, Law Enforcement or Military.
