Position: Employment Services Rep I

The Business Services Representative (BSR) serves as the primary point of contact and local subject matter expert for businesses within their assigned Workforce Delivery Area. The BSR markets and promotes the services of Mass Hire North Shore Career Center and Mass Biz Works  to employers and other interested parties, develops promotional programs, conducts business assessments, disseminates labor market information, and provides technical assistance concerning recruitment of Career Center clients.

The BSR cultivates lasting relationships with employers in the Mass Hire North Shore service area.

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities
  • Consistently represent the values of Mass Hire North Shore Career Center and EOLWD.
    • Collaboration – Leverage partnership and streamline services to achieve effective results.
    • Respect – Commit to understanding and valuing diverse business and personnel needs.
    • Reliability – Build trust by consistently delivering high‑quality services.
    • Ingenuity – Use flexibility, expertise, and knowledge to meet the mission amid new challenges.
  • Market and promote Career Center services to employers, explaining programs and obtaining job listings that meet established standards.
  • Promote Business Services and Mass Biz Works  to employers, highlighting grant applications, tax incentives, and other state or federal resources.
  • Partner with local businesses to develop apprenticeship and on‑the‑job training opportunities.
  • Create, develop, and deliver presentations to employers, community organizations, and job seekers to promote services and coordinate focus groups.
  • Utilize online tools (e.g., Burning Glass, Labor Insight, O
    * Net, MassCIS) to research local labor market trends and present findings.
  • Collaborate with other Career Center staff to promote services through flyers, social media, and other channels.
  • Provide technical assistance to employers with unfilled positions, suggesting solutions such as job restructuring or recruitment strategies.
  • Ensure staff awareness of employer needs and job order specifications for prompt servicing.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct job fairs, recruitments, and employer information sessions.
  • Maintain employer information database (MOSES), recording updates and fostering placement of Career Center customers.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, and partners.
  • Actively participate in Career Center teams to improve service quality and foster a positive work culture.
  • Perform additional duties necessary to support customer service and daily operations.
  • Participate in staff development and cross‑training opportunities.
  • Qualifications

    First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.

    • Applicants must have at least three (3) years of full‑time or equivalent part‑time professional experience in business, marketing, recruitment, employment or educational counseling, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and substitutions.
    • Substitution:
      An associate’s degree or higher in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
    • Incumbents may need a current and valid motor vehicle driver’s license relevant to the assignment.
