Please note: The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above.

This position will be located at Montauk State Park, 345 County Road 6670, Salem, Missouri 65560
. The shifts for this position are typically Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break. Schedule and shifts may vary with the time of year to meet facility operational needs. This position will be required to regularly rotate working on weekends from the end of February until the beginning of November. Working some nights, holidays, emergencies, and special events may also be required.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled work in the alteration, maintenance, natural resource stewardship, and repair of state buildings and facilities.
  • Work in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete, and masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair in settings such as facilities, grounds, and cemeteries.
  • Routine cleaning of park buildings, restrooms, campsites, and park grounds.
  • Maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license to operate and maintain licensed vehicles, as well as tractors, mowers, skid steer, and other grounds related equipment.
  • Operate and maintain lawn mowers, tractors, skid loader, trucks, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and similar mechanical equipment.
  • Assist with prescribed burns, wildfire suppression, herbicide application, and other natural or cultural activities as directed with the completion of Level 1 Prescribed Fire training.
  • Be able to walk long distances on uneven terrain in all kinds of weather and environmental conditions and can lift 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
  • May also oversee a crew engaged in maintenance tasks.
  • This position may be required to obtain and maintain an appropriate commercial operator’s license, water/wastewater certifications, and/or other required licenses/certification. If required and if you do not currently possess this license/certification, you will be given six months to obtain necessary license/certification.

Experience Equivalency
  • 1 – 3 years of experience in any of the following trade areas: electrical, plumbing, concrete and masonry, carpentry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair. (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience)
