Position Details
  • Position: Special Education Teacher
  • Location: Hooksett School District
  • Age group: Grades 3-5
  • Duration: 2026/2027 school year
  • Schedule: 37.5 hours/week
Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialized instruction and learning support aligned to students'
    Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Develop, implement, and manage IEPs
    , including goals, accommodations/modifications, service minutes, and progress monitoring.
  • Deliver instruction in a variety of settings as needed (e.g., inclusion, resource, or self-contained), based on student needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and school support staff to ensure students can access the curriculum.
  • Use data to track progress, adjust instruction, and document growth toward IEP goals.
  • Support positive behavior and social-emotional development using student-centered and trauma-informed practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with special education timelines and state/federal requirements.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent/guardian communication, and multidisciplinary team planning.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education (or related field).
  • Active New Hampshire special education licensure/certification (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Knowledge of special education laws and compliance requirements (IDEA/IEP processes).
  • Strong communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
  • School-based experience preferred (but not required, depending on the role).
