Purpose of PositionTeam Wendy Ceradyne, a subsidiary of Avon Technologies, seeks a Quality Engineer to maintain and improve the Quality Management System compliant with ISO 9001:2015 in the production of thermoplastic molded ballistic helmets. The role involves overseeing quality metrics, tracking build improvements, and assisting in the development and implementation of new products and processes.
Essential Duties and/or Functions- Lead corrective action investigations arising from customer complaints, audit findings, and process issues.
- Manage an audit program compliant with ISO 9001:2015.
- Develop manufacturing documentation compliant with ISO 9001:2015, including processes, logs, and quality control plans.
- Interact with suppliers and customers to resolve product issues.
- Track and respond to manufacturing quality metrics such as yield, DPPM, and scrap.
- Work with operations staff to implement documentation and process updates.
- Collaborate with R&D to implement new processes and develop documentation for new products.
- Prepare, operate, and maintain test equipment through calibration and standardization procedures.
- Operate experimental, prototype, or production test equipment and maintain supply of needed materials.
- Document and interpret test results, maintain records, and prepare reports.
- Complete special requests from engineers, managers, or supervisors and participate as a team member on problem‑solving teams.
- Actively participate in Lean processes or projects (standard work reviews, Tier 1 meetings, Kaizen events).
- Initiate personal learning in additional work areas and Lean manufacturing practices.
- Disposition non‑conforming materials in collaboration with production, manufacturing engineering, and supply chain teams.
- Support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions, including leading or supporting 8D investigations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality and process efficiency.
- Lead or respond to internal and external Corrective Action Requests (CARs) to ensure timely closure.
- Conduct statistical quality analysis of non‑conforming materials and manufacturing processes using Minitab.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Two or more years of quality experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Hands‑on problem‑solving acumen.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to bring ideas to management and implement necessary process improvements.
- Experience and knowledge in quality systems compliant with ISO 9001:2015.

The anticipated salary range for candidates in Salem, NH is $80,000 to $89,000 annually, subject to factors such as experience, education, and industry.
