The Quality Engineer plays a critical role in driving product reliability and process improvement by identifying and resolving quality issues across the organization. This position is responsible for conducting root cause analyses of both field-returned and in-house failed units, developing and implementing corrective and preventive actions including updating all process documentation. The Quality Engineer collaborates cross-functionally with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure a high standard of quality and customer satisfaction.

About the Role:
  • Identify field-returned units to be autopsied to determine root cause(s) of failure.
  • Investigate internal failures to identify root causes and drive resolution.
  • Lead the development and implementation of containment strategies, countermeasures, and corrective initiatives.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends and areas for process improvement.
  • Track and report the effectiveness of corrective actions over time.
  • Support the design and implementation of fixtures, instrumentation, and test methods as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Communicate quality findings and improvement initiatives clearly across departments.
  • Contribute to achieving company-wide quality performance targets.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Process Engineering.
  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical systems, such as gear trains, hydraulics, or rotating machinery.
  • Comfortable using Excel for calculation, data manipulation and creating data visualizations.
  • Previous experience creating SOPs and related documentation.
  • Eager to take on new challenges with a positive, team-first attitude and a willingness to develop new skills.

  • Strong data analysis and trend interpretation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering and manufacturing environments.
Preferred

Skills:
  • Relevant experience in a manufacturing or automotive quality engineering role is preferred.
