Investment & Asset Operations Subject Matter Expert
Location: Salem, NH
Schedule: Hybrid for New Hampshire residents; 100% onsite for candidates residing outside of New Hampshire
Compensation: $70,000–$100,000 + Bonus
Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Investment & Asset Operations Subject Matter Expert to support investment operations, asset administration, and trust-related activities. This individual will serve as a key operational resource, ensuring accurate processing, reconciliation, and reporting while providing expertise on complex investment and asset-related matters. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, collaborative, and experienced in trust and investment operations.
Key Responsibilities- Complete initial and annual investment reviews while maintaining appropriate supporting documentation.
- Process, reconcile, and resolve trade activity for marketable securities and mutual funds.
- Manage asset transfers, free deliveries/receipts, reconciliations, and maintain accurate tax lot and cost basis records.
- Administer alternative and non‑marketable assets, including transaction processing, valuations, pricing, and income processing.
- Support investment governance through meeting preparation, minutes, and portfolio reporting.
- Provide exceptional service to internal business partners and external clients.
- Serve as the subject matter expert and escalation point for complex investment and asset operations issues.
- Partner with internal teams and external service providers to improve operational efficiency and client service.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in trust operations, investment operations, securities processing, or alternative asset administration.
- Strong understanding of fiduciary responsibilities, investment products, and investment strategies.
- Knowledge of applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with trust accounting systems and custodial platforms is preferred.
