Duties and Responsibilities Train new hires and existing employees on transmission assembly procedures and manufacturing processes.
Demonstrate proper assembly methods, techniques, and use of tools and equipment.
Ensure employees follow standardized work instructions and quality standards.
Support daily production goals by working directly on the assembly line as needed.
Monitor employee performance and provide hands-on coaching to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Identify process improvement opportunities and support LEAN manufacturing initiatives.
Assist in reducing defects, rework, and production downtime through effective training and process adherence.
Work closely with Production Supervisors, Team Leads, and Quality personnel to ensure manufacturing objectives are achieved.
Promote and maintain 5S workplace organization standards.
Verify employees are trained and capable of safely operating equipment and tooling.
Assist with troubleshooting assembly issues and implementing corrective actions.
Maintain training documentation and employee skill assessments.
Requirements Strong knowledge of manufacturing and assembly operations.
Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and follow work instructions, procedures, and quality requirements.
Strong communication and coaching abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to lead by example and maintain a positive attitude on the production floor.
Experience and Education High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or assembly experience.
Previous experience training, mentoring, leading, or coaching production employees preferred.
Automotive, transmission, engine, or mechanical assembly experience strongly preferred.
Experience working in a LEAN manufacturing environment preferred.
Knowledge of quality systems, production metrics, and continuous improvement practices.
Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
Ability to frequently bend, lift, reach, and perform repetitive assembly tasks.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment and machinery.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and assembly fixtures.
