The Quality Inspection & Packaging Technician Supports Production Of Commercial And High-reliability In Ga As And Germanium Photodetectors. This Position Involves Working In a Microelectronics Manufacturing Environment Performing Quality Related Functions Including
- Compete incoming, in-process, and final inspections of optoelectronic products and components (visual cosmetic inspection and configuration verification)
- Conduct component inspections using microscopes, magnifiers, and other inspection equipment
- Verify product dimensions, specifications, and workmanship against drawings, work instructions, and quality standards
- Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming materials and products
- Report quality issues, defects, and process concerns to supervisors and quality personnel
- Support root cause investigations by providing inspection data and observations
- Package components for product preservation and pre-shipment
- Additionally, the Quality Inspection & Packaging Technician will at times support the Quality team by assisting with incoming inspection of raw materials, simple electrical testing, participating in the internal audit program, facilitating the recall of calibrated equipment, and other related tasks.
This full-time, exempt, office-based role, will report to the Director of Quality, EH&S located at our Salem, NH facility.

- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints
- Familiarity with high power digital microscopes
- Use of mechanical inspection gauges, digital multimeter
- Low & highpower visual Inspection per MILSTD
883, Method 2010 - Visual inspection per MILSTD
883, Method 2017 - Package inspection per MILSTD
883, Method 2009 - Dimensional inspection of physical attributes using calipers, micrometers, and camera assisted inspection software
- Familiarity with ESD controls, cleanroom protocols, FOD prevention, and safe work practices
- High school degree, or equivalent
- Manufacturing experience: 3 years
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
