Position: Quality Auditor-(10p-6a)

Summary

The Quality Auditor is responsible for conducting quality audits and inspections to ensure manufacturing processes, products, and documentation meet established company standards, customer requirements, and applicable quality system requirements. This position works closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to identify process issues, document findings, and support corrective actions and continuous improvement efforts within the die-casting operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine process, product, and quality system audits throughout the die-casting operation.
  • Verify production processes are being performed according to established work instructions, control plans, procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Perform layered process audits and verify compliance with established manufacturing and quality standards.
  • Inspect die-cast components for dimensional, visual, and functional requirements using appropriate measuring equipment and inspection methods.
  • Review quality records, inspection documentation, SPC data, first-piece inspections, and other required production records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify that required inspections and testing are being completed and documented properly.
  • Identify nonconforming material, process deviations, and potential quality concerns.
  • Document audit findings and communicate issues to appropriate Production, Quality, and Engineering personnel.
  • Assist with containment activities and follow up on corrective actions resulting from audit findings.
  • Verify corrective actions have been implemented and are effective.
  • Monitor recurring quality issues and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist with root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities.
  • Support customer-specific quality requirements and ensure applicable requirements are followed on the production floor.
  • Verify proper identification, segregation, and disposition of nonconforming material.
  • Review and maintain quality documentation and audit records.
  • Support internal, customer, and third-party audits as needed.
  • Ensure employees are following applicable safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
  • Work closely with production personnel to promote consistent adherence to quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in quality, manufacturing, inspection, or auditing required.
  • Experience in a die-casting or metal manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality inspection methods, and quality documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Ability to use basic inspection and measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement tools.
  • Knowledge of SPC, control plans, PFMEA, corrective action, and root-cause analysis preferred.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 quality systems preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify process and documentation issues.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, Engineering, and other departments.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain accurate documentation.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the manufacturing facility for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, and lift materials or inspection equipment.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, moving equipment, and industrial processes.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Preferred Experience
  • 1–3 years of quality or manufacturing experience.
  • Die-casting experience.
  • Experience performing process or layered audits.
  • Experience with GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
  • Experience with SPC and quality data analysis.
  • Experience with corrective action and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience working within an IATF 16949 or ISO-certified manufacturing environment.
