Job Description & How to Apply Below

American Standard / Bootz is seeking a hands-on Cost Accountant to strengthen costing and inventory controls at our Salem manufacturing facility. This individual-contributor role will serve as the primary on-site finance partner, working closely with plant leadership and the remote finance team.

The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems at their source—connecting plant-floor activity, system transactions, inventory movement, and financial results.

What You’ll Do
  • Own standard-cost setup, product costing, BOM accuracy, and inventory-valuation support.
  • Review inventory movements and ensure transactions are captured correctly in CMS.
  • Identify costing, master-data, and transaction-process gaps and implement practical controls.
  • Reconcile and validate ERP and spreadsheet data at the transaction level.
  • Develop repeatable cost-to-produce, inventory, and departmental-spend reporting.
  • Translate cost and inventory information into actionable insights for plant and finance leadership.
  • Partner with operations to correct inaccurate processes and prevent recurring finance cleanup.
  • Establish clear owners, review routines, and escalation paths for exceptions.
What We’re Looking For
  • Hands-on manufacturing cost-accounting experience.
  • Experience with standard costing, BOMs, product-cost setup, and inventory control or valuation.
  • Demonstrated ability to build or repair incomplete financial processes.
  • Strong ERP and Excel skills, including reconciliations, pivot tables, and lookup functions.
  • Ability to work directly with plant teams and explain the financial impact of operational decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail, ownership, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfort working independently as the primary on-site finance resource.
Helpful Experience
  • CMS or similar manufacturing ERP experience.
  • Acquisition or ERP-integration experience.
  • Procurement or departmental-spend reporting.
  • Experience in building products, consumer products, or another inventory-intensive manufacturing environment.
Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to build a dependable cost-control environment—not simply maintain an established process. Your work will directly improve product costing, inventory accuracy, margin visibility, and plant-level decision-making.
