Hunt Valve Company has been manufacturing shipboard valves for naval customers for decades. The Engineering Department is responsible for valve design, production engineering, and project management activities. Engineering provides support to other departments including Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Quality. Candidates will possess a moderate degree of business awareness along with a passion for the engineering discipline. We offer a unique working environment that allows a hands‑on engineering professional to develop and grow their technical skills and business acumen and support critical naval defense activities for domestic shipyards as well as international allies.
As a growing manufacturing company, we are committed to maintaining excellence in efficiency, productivity, and quality on our shop floor. To support this commitment and achieve our goals, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Manufacturing/Process Engineer to join our team. This position is essential to streamlining our processes, improving machine utilization, and supporting the continued growth of our operations.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Essential Job Functions- Routings:
Develop, implement, and maintain accurate and efficient routings for all parts. Ensure routings are optimized for our machines and/or outsourced services. - Work Instructions and Setup Sheets:
Create clear and detailed work instructions and setup sheets to improve consistency and reduce errors. Collaborate with operators, machinists, and programmers to ensure these documents are user‑friendly and effective. - Machine Utilization Planning:
Assess current machine capabilities and capacity to plan optimal machine usage for specific operations. Strategize ways to maximize machine efficiency and minimize downtime. - Process Optimization:
Analyze and refine manufacturing processes to improve workflow, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency. Partner with shop supervisors to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven experience in manufacturing/process engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machine capabilities, and production planning.
- Proficiency in creating and maintaining routings, work instructions, and setup sheets.
- Ability to analyze and optimize workflows for efficiency and quality improvement.
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software and ERP systems is a plus.
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
