Station Engineer/Engineering Technologist – Associate – Transmission System Operations Engineering (TSOE)
Location:
New Albany, Ohio or Salem, Virginia (2 Locations)
Responsible to the assigned supervisor for performing intermediate level engineering work activities and projects within Transmission System Operations Engineering (TSOE). The role supports compliance with NERC and industry standards related to configuration changes on the transmission grid.
Responsibilities- Provide engineering support to Transmission Field Services personnel for the commissioning and verification of planned and unplanned work on the transmission grid.
- Review upcoming system outages for configuration changes.
- Review engineering drawings and project information to align systems of record with as‑built conditions.
- Perform root‑cause analysis on identified system of record discrepancies to identify process improvement opportunities and ensure accurate facility ratings.
- Lead, facilitate, and coordinate work activities of other engineers and staff as required.
- Develop and maintain plans, measurable goals, and schedules for projects.
- Analyze complex problems, develop solutions, and present recommendations.
- Prepare and present reports on technical subjects to management and regulatory bodies.
- Apply engineering knowledge to support safe, effective, and economical accomplishment of objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
- For SG6 (entry level): new graduate status and passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination is encouraged and preferred.
- For SG7:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering with two or more years of related engineering experience, or a Master’s degree from an ABET‑accredited program, or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology with a Professional Engineer (PE) license. - Ability to interpret codes and regulations and develop relevant standards.
- Strong technical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project scheduling techniques (CPM, PERT, flow charts).
- Certification or eligibility for a PE license (for non‑ABET B.S. holders). PE licensing in Puerto Rico aligning with NCEES standards is required for certain applicants.

CompensationEngineer/Engineering Technologist SG6: $84,000 – $90,000
Engineer/Engineering Technologist SG7: $89,000 – $110,000
