Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 Full-Time Permanent Position with Benefits
An engineering firm in the Salem, Ohio area to recruit an experienced Civil / Structural Engineering Manager. This pivotal leadership role requires a rare combination of deep technical expertise and exceptional communication skills. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, oversee high-value infrastructure projects, manage strict delivery timelines, and ensure all engineering outcomes align seamlessly with corporate and client goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and inspire a team of engineers, providing consistent technical guidance, performance feedback, and professional development support.
- Partner with product managers, designers, and cross-functional business units to accurately define project scopes, resource allocations, and execution timelines.
- Oversee the lifecycle of complex civil and structural engineering projects, ensuring on-time delivery, budget compliance, and adherence to strict quality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement across internal engineering workflows, implementing modern tools, methodologies, and technical best practices.
- Assist corporate leadership in recruiting, onboarding, and retaining top-tier engineering talent to support firm growth.
- Serve as the final technical authority for the team, troubleshooting complex structural or civil challenges and approving final project outputs.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5+ years of total experience in civil/structural engineering roles, with at least 2 years in a direct leadership, supervisory, or management position.
- Strong organizational skills with proven project management capabilities; exposure to Agile or Scrum workflows within engineering environments is highly preferred.
- Exceptional critical thinking, interpersonal diplomacy, and communication skills to effectively interface with internal teams and external stakeholders.
