Stepdown RN - Salem, Ohio

A clinical nursing opportunity is available for experienced RNs skilled in higher acuity PCU/Stepdown care. This position offers a challenging and rewarding environment managing complex patients requiring ventilator support and advanced hemodynamic monitoring within a busy 28-bed stepdown unit.

Key Qualifications:

• Current RN license with relevant state or compact coverage
• Minimum 1 year RN experience; strong critical care or stepdown unit exposure required
• Ventilator experience mandatory, including management of trachs, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow oxygen devices
• Proficient with cardiac drips such as Cardizem and Amiodarone (no pressors)
• Certifications:
  
  BLS, ACLS, Dysrhythmia Exam, NIH Stroke (preferred)
• Experience with insulin drips and higher acuity care including multi-system trauma and organ failure patients
• Ability to conduct comprehensive patient assessments and create effective care plans

Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient care utilizing nursing process and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Manage ventilated patients and perform critical care procedures confidently
• Serve as patient advocate, coordinating care and family communication
• Maintain awareness of safety and quality improvement initiatives
• Function adaptively in a high-stress, rapidly changing environment
• Mentor and orient nursing staff when required

Schedule:

• 12-hour night shifts

This unit features complex patient populations including respiratory, renal, surgical, and trauma cases. Staffing strives for a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:4-5 with support from CNAs and charge nurses. Flexibility to float to similar or lower acuity units may be required.
