Overview
Position: PD RN Circulator
Department: Surgery
Shift: shift varies, 10 hr shifts
Purpose. The Perioperative Services Staff RN is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient/family centered care in the operating room and other areas of Perioperative Services for all patient populations. The Perioperative Services Staff RN supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
This position may also require the employee to perform other related duties and activities as assigned by supervision.
Whenever the activity in the Perioperative Services Department decreases to the level that the Perioperative Service staff RN is not needed to provide direct patient care or oversight, he/she will house float until their services are required in Perioperative Services.
Responsibilities- The Perioperative Services Staff RN is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and quality patient/family centered care in the operating room and other areas of Perioperative Services for all patient populations.
- Support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Perform other related duties and activities as assigned by supervision when needed.
- Float as needed to cover Perioperative Services when activity levels decrease, and return to Perioperative Services when required.
- Currently certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support.
- Competent to function as a House Float.
- Graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing, and must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support required for PACU only.
- Can demonstrate knowledge regarding the nursing process and its application by current work experience in health care or recent graduate from a professional school of nursing (within last 12 months).
- Circulator experience required.
