Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented accounts payable clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Salem, Oregon. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in invoice processing, and experience with accounting software. The position is ideal for someone with intermediate Excel skills and familiarity with high-volume invoice operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage approximately 600 invoices per month with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Utilize ERP software for coding invoices and managing accounts payable tasks.
  • Perform check runs and ensure timely payments to vendors.
  • Create and analyze pivot tables and use VLOOKUP functions in Excel to support financial operations.
  • Collaborate with the existing team for a seamless transition during the initial week.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures during invoice processing.
  • Address discrepancies in invoices and resolve issues promptly.
  • Prepare reports and reconcile accounts to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors to facilitate smooth operations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role.
  • Proficiency in using an ERP or comparable accounting software.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
  • Ability to process high volumes of invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills for vendor and team interactions.
  • Familiarity with coding invoices and performing check runs.
  • Capability to adapt quickly to new processes and software systems.
