Job Title: Accounting Manager
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a hands‑on Accounting Manager to take ownership of the entire accounting function in a standalone capacity. This position consolidates responsibilities currently handled by a fractional CFO, part‑time staff accountant, and AP/AR support into one comprehensive role. The selected individual will serve as the top internal accounting resource, overseeing day‑to‑day transactional duties and higher‑level financial oversight while collaborating closely with leadership.
Responsibilities- Own full‑cycle accounting processes, including journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations.
- Manage month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of all entries.
- Coordinate with external CPA for tax filings and audits.
- Oversee cost accounting and inventory management processes, including tracking and reconciling inventory, monitoring COGS, margins, and manufacturing variances.
- Collaborate with operations on costing accuracy and improvements.
- Execute operational accounting tasks such as bank reconciliations and cash flow tracking.
- Support or partner on payroll, currently outsourced.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting, providing financial insights to leadership.
- Support cooperative‑level and organizational reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
- Experience with full‑cycle accounting in a standalone or small‑team environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Proficiency in cost accounting and inventory management.
- Ability to be both strategic and hands‑on.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in the manufacturing or agriculture industry is preferred.
- Experience working in small to mid‑sized organizations (~$10M revenue range).
- CPA or CMA certification is preferred but not required.
- Exposure to budgeting and forecasting is beneficial.
- Experience with ERP systems, specifically Quick Books Enterprise, is preferred.
This position offers a hybrid schedule with 2 days onsite (Friday required) and 3 days remote. The office is located next to a manufacturing facility, providing exposure to an industrial environment. The workspace is flexible and shared, with access to a private office for focused work. This role offers opportunities for growth, ownership, and exposure to CFO‑level functions over time.
Job Type & LocationPermanent position based out of Salem, OR.
Pay and BenefitsSalary: $85,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year.
Benefits:
Profit sharing (per intake); additional benefits to be confirmed with client.
