Financial Reporting, Senior Accountant
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (On-Site)
Our client, a growing manufacturing company in the Salem area, is seeking a Senior Accountant. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role will oversee day-to-day accounting operations while helping strengthen financial processes and support the creation of new processes.
What You'll Do- Hands on processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer billing, and check runs
- Assist with the month-end close process and ensure timely completion of financial reporting activities
- Prepare journal entries and maintain amortization schedules
- Prepare and file Federal Excise Tax (FET) and state sales tax returns on a quarterly basis
- Reconcile bank accounts and manage online banking activity and portals
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations and ensure accurate classification of financial transactions
- Assist with financial period closings and ongoing accounting process improvements
- Collaborate with leadership to support company growth initiatives
- 3+ years of accounting experience required
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Manufacturing industry experience is a plus
