Salary Range: $4,765 – $7,392

Note:

In this profile, new employees to OJD may start up to the second step of the salary range. Eligible for a 5% annual increase thereafter.

Job Description

The Polk County Circuit Court in Dallas, Oregon, is hiring a Court Clerk (Court Operations Specialist). In this role, you will support courtroom operations by taking minutes, preparing judgments and orders, entering data of court events and documents, operating the court’s electronic recorder, and ensuring accurate records are created and preserved in accordance with applicable law, rules, and business processes. When not in the courtroom, you will schedule meetings, maintain court calendars, prepare dockets, assemble documents, notify parties, arrange prisoner transport, and coordinate court appearances for litigants or interpreters.

You will coordinate case activities with judges, court administration, other operations staff, attorneys, and litigants. You will assist customers at the counter, by phone, or by email; prioritize tasks; route parties and materials; accept and receipt payments for costs, fees, fines, bail, and other monies, and balance the cash drawer daily. You may also review financial information to make recommendations for court-appointed attorney eligibility.

Assigned tasks may be changed to meet workload and organizational needs.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications must be evident in your resume or work history:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Four (4) years of responsible administrative experience in a moderately complex office or business setting, demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
  • Or any combination of education and experience equivalent to four (4) years that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
