What

You Will Do

As an Office Specialist 1 you will facilitate the timely and accurate scanning and mailing of Unemployment Insurance (UI) correspondence, provide clerical support to the UI Division, and support UI departments with special projects.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and assist with the daily cycle of incoming documents to ensure same‑day completion of work to maintain unit and agency timeliness.
  • Prepare and batch documents for scanning that have been received for units within UI and Paid Leave.
  • Operate and maintain an imaging scanner.
  • Assist with special projects within UI departments to expedite timely completion that could affect a claimant's claim.
  • Assist other team members to ensure timely completion of duties, including answering phone calls and assisting customers.
What We Are Looking For Required

Minimum Qualifications
  • One year of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR an equivalent combination of experience and college coursework or training in a general office occupation.

  • Skill in operating typical office equipment such as computer, photocopier, scanner, and fax.
  • Demonstrated responsibility for your own actions and a commitment to performing assigned tasks.
  • Ability to comply with requirements regarding sensitive and confidential data.
  • Ability to be comfortable with changing or uncertain environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to remain professional, calm, and adapt communication style to meet the needs of diverse customers that may be frustrated, upset or critical.
