Who We Are The Appellate Court Services Division (ACSD) is part of the Office of the State Court Administrator (OSCA) at the Oregon Judicial Department (OJD). ACSD operates the public clerk’s office and provides administrative support for the Oregon Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. ACSD also provides support and services to OJD, executive branch agencies, and the public.

You are potentially eligible for a 5% annual increase.
Position Highlights We are hiring a Records/Courtroom Clerk (Court Operations Associate) to join us in Salem, this role, you will perform courtroom duties during oral argument proceedings for the Court of Appeals. Prior to each session, you will set up the courtroom and test all recording equipment. You will facilitate remote, in-person, and hybrid court proceedings by operating the court’s electronic recording systems, maintaining accurate timekeeping, checking in attorneys, managing the webcasting of arguments, posting argument recordings online, and answering questions from judges, attorneys, court staff, and the public.
You will also be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues encountered by litigants and judges. This requires the ability to respond quickly, demonstrate strong critical‑thinking skills under pressure, and maintain control of the progression of proceedings in both in‑person and virtual settings.
When you are not in the courtroom, you will spend much of your day providing administrative support to the Appellate Court Records Section of ACSD, which includes responding to document requests from attorneys, the public, and internal court customers by preparing, copying, scanning, and sending documents electronically and by mail. You will process incoming electronic and physical exhibits from trial courts and agencies and will help the appellate judgment team return exhibits and other records to the trial courts and agencies.
You will spend part of your time analyzing, posting, and reviewing motions and notices. You will draft and process orders and will prepare, mail, and electronically post case correspondence. You will provide coverage for the internal mail desk, which involves opening paper filings received by the court and scanning documents into the appellate case management system. You will also help customers by answering questions and processing payments at the records counter and over the phone.
Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.
