Position Title:
Court Operations Associate
Agency:
Oregon Judicial Department (OJD).
Salary Range: $4,539 – $7,042.

- Perform court case workflow tasks, including examining paperwork for accuracy and completeness, receiving pleadings and documents from parties and attorneys, and entering case data into OJD’s electronic case management system.
- Share information about court calendars and case status with judges and court staff.
- Process incoming mail, file documents and folders, and make copies.
- Assist the public at the customer service counter and on the phone by answering questions, supplying forms, processing payments, and crediting accounts.
- Help a judge during court sessions by recording and monitoring proceedings, performing real‑time data entry, swearing in witnesses, marking and maintaining exhibits, and keeping trial records.
- Serve as bailiff and support juries, both in and out of the courtroom as needed.
- Assist other clerks within the judicial district as required.
- Adapt to task changes to accommodate workload and organizational needs.
- 95% to 99% coverage of medical insurance premiums for full‑time employees (up to 99% for part‑time), including mental health coverage.
- Hourly equivalent $26.19 – $40.63 or annual salary $54,464 – $84,501.
- 10 paid holidays, 2 floating holidays, 3 personal business days, separate sick and vacation paid leaves (prorated for part‑time), plus optional insurances and flexible spending plans.
- 5% allowance for bilingual skills (including ASL) if passing a skills test and assigned to use those skills on the job.
- Potential for a 5% annual increase and eligibility for up to the third step of the salary range for new candidates based on experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least three (3) years of responsible experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving processing of financial, administrative, or legal documents.
- Or a combination of education and experience equivalent to three (3) years of experience that supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

- Experience handling cash or other monetary transactions, generating receipts, and crediting accounts.
- Ability to work with minimal on‑site supervision and in a solo office environment.
- Full‑time position: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Eligible for overtime compensation for hours over 40 per workweek.
- Occasional after‑hours or overtime work may be required.
- Will work at the Wheeler County Courthouse in the morning and the Gilliam County Courthouse in the afternoon each day; travel is on work time and a work vehicle is provided.
- Primarily solo office environment with remote support via telephone, email, chat, and video.
- Work performed in an older building with inconsistent heating and cooling.
- Frequent phone and in‑person contact with diverse populations, including individuals facing challenging life circumstances, stress, or trauma.
- Regular use of electronic recording equipment, telephone, OJD‑assigned computer with multiple monitors, copy machine, fax machine, and scanner.
