Job DescriptionThe Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), Center for Health Statistics section is recruiting for an Amendments Office Specialist (Office Specialist
2). In this role, you will support vital records amendment operations by reviewing, preparing, scanning, and distributing customer requests; entering amendment orders into the state vital records system; and managing incoming communications through voicemail and email. You will provide customers with timely and accurate information regarding their amendment requests, ensure amended vital records are printed and mailed, and retrieve, file, and refile records with precision.
This position also assists program staff with a variety of office support tasks essential to maintaining effective and efficient workflow.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents OR
- An associate degree in any field OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Attributes:
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and screen applications and documents to ensure they meet specific requirements.
- Proven skill in understanding and consistently applying complex procedures, laws, and rules, to guarantee accuracy in processing vital record amendments.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat applications for processing documents.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting effectively with diverse colleagues and a diverse customer base.
- Capacity to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Experience providing friendly, professional, and high quality customer service.

Preference will be given to candidates possessing more years of experience and meeting more of the desired attributes.
