We are seeking a Statewide Facility Assessment Administrator to join our Office of School Facilities team at the Oregon Department of Education (ODE). This is a permanent position represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).
This position follows a hybrid work model. Onsite presence will be required when business or operational needs are best supported in person, such as collaboration, training, or work that requires access to onsite resources.
This position will travel to districts and conduct site visits to audit the third-party assessors and explain results to districts. A driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, a personal vehicle, or an alternative means of transportation are required for this position. Employees approved to work remotely must have a reliable and secure internet connection and maintain a professional work environment that supports productivity.
What you will do!You will administer and oversee Oregon's statewide school facility assessment program by developing and managing contracts with third-party assessors, establishing and maintaining facility assessment standards, ensuring the quality and integrity of facility data, and leveraging assessment information to inform statewide policy, funding decisions, and strategic planning related to school facilities. This position serves as the lead contract administrator for the statewide facility assessment program and is responsible for developing, procuring, and managing contracts for third-party assessment services that collect facility condition data from school buildings throughout Oregon.
As the primary point of contact for contracted assessors, this position provides technical guidance, monitors contract performance, ensures contractual requirements are met, manages assessment related funding, and oversees future procurement and contract renewal processes. This position will also be responsible for administering the competitive contracting process and recommending improvements to contract requirements and program delivery over time. You will have the opportunity to work with the Office of School Facilities team which is a dedicated, collaborative, and supportive team working across a variety of facilities grants and programs.
- Ensures assessors are using correct tools, methodologies, and standards to support consistent data collection.
- Directs third-party contractor to coordinate and plan assessment work with districts to maximize effectiveness of assessments while complying with local district policies.
- Be the single point of contact for districts and third-party assessors.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and four years experience coordinating or administering a program OR;
Any combination of experience or education equivalent to seven years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.

Demonstrated experience reviewing, validating, correcting, integrating, or analyzing program data for accuracy, consistency, and usefulness. - Technical Assistance and Stakeholder Support:
Ability to provide clear guidance, training, consultation, and technical assistance to districts, contractors, public agencies, or external partners. - Communication and Relationship Management:
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external partners.
