Role Description The Chief Administrative Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Salem, OR, responsible for overseeing the Mission’s administrative operations and supporting organizational effectiveness. This role manages daily administrative functions, including office systems, record-keeping, and administrative support for leadership and program staff. The Chief Administrative Officer collaborates with internal teams to improve processes, ensure excellent service to guests, staff, donors, and volunteers, and maintain clear communication across the organization.

Day-to-day tasks include supervising administrative staff, coordinating schedules and meetings, handling inquiries, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with internal policies, and supporting strategic planning and organizational initiatives aligned with the Mission’s values.
Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in General Administration and Administrative Assistance to manage office operations and support organizational leadership.
  • Strong Communication and Customer Service abilities to interact effectively with guests, staff, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Robust Organization Skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Experience supervising or leading administrative teams, with the ability to coach, develop, and support staff.
  • Proficiency with office productivity tools and databases (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, email, and CRM or donor management systems).
  • Knowledge of nonprofit operations, policies, and compliance practices; experience in a mission-driven or faith-based organization is beneficial.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Commitment to the Mission’s values and a respectful approach to serving individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences
