Position Overview
If you’re a construction professional looking for the next step in your career, our team can provide you with a fun and challenging opportunity to grow with an industry leader. In this role, you’ll manage all aspects of public and private civil construction projects of various sizes by preparing estimates and bid packages and managing each project through to completion. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact to communicate project costs, staffing, scheduling, and updates with contractors.

Compensation: $135k+ annually, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documents to prepare time, material, equipment, production and labor estimates.
- Prepare preliminary estimates for planning purposes and detailed estimates based on final plans and specifications.
- Consult with clients, vendors and others to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Maintain current and accurate information on prices from suppliers and contractors through direct contact and written proposals.
- Prepare bid packages, estimates and analysis of subcontractor bids for projects of any size and complexity.
- Physically measure, assess the condition, and formalize estimates for projects.
- Manage projects awarded from scheduling, resource allocation, cost projections, subcontractor management, and billing.
- Check daily cost sheets for correctness, compliance with estimated cost, and if over budget, find out why and report to management.
- Prior to job startup, review with the job superintendent the project plans, specifications and review the project startup list to ensure that each item is done.
- Check that superintendent’s job quantities are correct and submitted.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a thorough knowledge of civil construction estimating skills and techniques including knowledge of asphalt paving, dirt work, excavation, underground utilities, and related areas; 7+ years of experience, required.
- Candidates with civil experience that is closely related to estimating and/or project management may be considered; however, preference will be given to those with experience estimating civil projects.
