Structural Construction Field Crew Lead
Location:
Salem, OR Pay: $40.00–$50.00 per hour, DOE
Schedule:
Full-Time
Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Structural Construction Field Crew Lead for a growing construction team in the Salem area. This position will lead field crews working on structural buildings and wireless telecommunications projects. The ideal candidate has strong construction experience, leadership skills, and a solid understanding of jobsite safety.
Responsibilities- Lead and supervise field crews during structural construction, erection, assembly, and welding projects.
- Assign daily tasks and coordinate crew activities.
- Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and construction drawings.
- Conduct daily safety inspections and equipment checks.
- Oversee the safe use and maintenance of tools, vehicles, and construction equipment.
- Verify materials and supplies are properly accounted for and loaded before jobs.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, customers, and subcontractors.
- Complete daily logs, timesheets, inspection reports, and project documentation.
- Train and support crew members while maintaining a strong safety culture.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards.
- Minimum 3 years of construction experience.
- Previous crew lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Telecommunications construction experience is a plus.
- Experience reading blueprints, site plans, and construction drawings.
- Knowledge of OSHA and construction safety standards.
- Experience with rigging, hoisting, man-lifts, forklifts, trucks, and other construction equipment.
- Familiarity with AWS D1.1 structural steel welding codes and procedures.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Basic computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and at heights.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
