Position Summary

Field is a family-owned global supplier of fasteners, "C" commodities, inventory management services, and technical support. This is an hourly, full-time position located in Salem, OR. The VMI rep is a primary customer contact, responsible for delivering product, managing inventory levels, creating orders, and building positive relationships with customers. Work requires frequent lifting up to 50 pounds, resolution of quality and delivery issues, staying in the customer's facility, and traveling as needed.

Location:

Salem, OR. Starting Hourly Pay: $19–$20.

Essential Functions
  • Commit to FIELD’s Mission Statement, Core Values, and Fieldamentals.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact, stage and deliver product within the customer’s facility, manage inventory levels, create orders, and build positive relationships with customers.
  • Repeated lifting, carrying, bending, and reaching while handling cartons of product up to 50 pounds.
  • Resolve quality and delivery issues with customers and Field.
  • Seek additional opportunities at customer locations to expand Field’s business.
  • Maintain a clean and organized space for racks, bins, and labels.
  • Participate actively in training programs to grow product knowledge, system efficiency, and customer engagement skills.
  • Work with customer in‑house representatives and Field’s account managers to ensure expectations are met.
  • Use a portable scanning device to collect inventory data at client location and report to Field.
  • Interact with multiple customer departments and personnel.
  • Participate in continual development and improvement of inventory management systems.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures at Field and customer locations.
Education, Skills & Experience Required
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Polite and professional manner.
  • Demon state commitment to embracing Field’s Core Values, Fieldamentals, and Mission Statement.
  • 1–3 years of customer service and/or warehouse experience with customer interaction.
  • Experience in a fast‑paced, team‑based environment.
  • Ability and motivation to succeed with limited direct supervision.
Additional Skills Preferred
  • Fastener knowledge.
  • Industrial distribution, warehouse, or customer service experience.
  • Experience with Prophet 21.
