Dental Hygienist Time

Capitol Dental is seeking a part‑time Expanded Practice Hygienist traveling around Salem, OR, and a full‑time Community Outreach Expanded Practice Hygienist to serve the Medicaid population in community health settings. The role supports flexible scheduling, independence, and comprehensive patient care beyond the traditional clinical environment.

• Serve as the Oral Health Champion in medical clinics, hospitals, and multiple community settings.
• Collaborate with medical providers to provide integrated oral health and primary care.
• Perform hygiene services including intra‑oral photos, x‑rays, assessments, and preventive treatments.
• Utilize tele‑health technology to communicate with the dentist, who reviews charts, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
• Prescribe antibiotics when necessary, under guidance from the collaborative dentist to stabilize patients until in‑person care.
• Conduct administrative tasks: insurance verification, EHR and dental software usage, and basic office software.
• Engage in marketing, education, and networking within community settings, educating patients, colleagues, and stakeholders on oral health.
• Recruit, schedule, and manage patient appointments for dental services.
• Maintain accountability, organization, and communication skills, exercising independent decision making at a high level.

• Accredited Hygiene Technical School or College graduate

• Oregon EPDH license
