Capitol Dental is seeking a part‑time Expanded Practice Hygienist traveling around Salem, OR, and a full‑time Community Outreach Expanded Practice Hygienist to serve the Medicaid population in community health settings. The role supports flexible scheduling, independence, and comprehensive patient care beyond the traditional clinical environment.
Responsibilities- Serve as the Oral Health Champion in medical clinics, hospitals, and multiple community settings.
- Collaborate with medical providers to provide integrated oral health and primary care.
- Perform hygiene services including intra‑oral photos, x‑rays, assessments, and preventive treatments.
- Utilize tele‑health technology to communicate with the dentist, who reviews charts, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Prescribe antibiotics when necessary, under guidance from the collaborative dentist to stabilize patients until in‑person care.
- Conduct administrative tasks: insurance verification, EHR and dental software usage, and basic office software.
- Engage in marketing, education, and networking within community settings, educating patients, colleagues, and stakeholders on oral health.
- Recruit, schedule, and manage patient appointments for dental services.
- Maintain accountability, organization, and communication skills, exercising independent decision making at a high level.
