Expanded Practice Dental Hygienist — Community Outreach

Capitol Dental | Salem, OR (Traveling Position) $5,000 Signing Bonus | Part Time

A Different Kind of Hygiene Role

This isn‘t a chair-side position. If you‘re a hygienist who wants independence, community impact, and the chance to practice at the top of your license — this role was built for you. Capitol Dental is hiring a Part Time Expanded Practice Dental Hygienist (EPDH) for our Community Outreach program in and around Salem, OR. You‘ll bring oral healthcare directly to patients in medical clinics, hospitals, and community settings — meeting people where they are, often when access to traditional dental care isn‘t an option.

Why

Capitol Dental

Our vision is simple: provide exceptional, lifelong, integrated oral healthcare — and make it accessible to every patient, in every setting. We believe oral health is foundational to overall wellbeing, and that means reaching patients beyond the four walls of a traditional clinic. We‘re a team of people who care, listen, and show up for our communities. We build meaningful relationships with our patients, our medical partners, and each other — and we‘re looking for a provider who shares that commitment.

What

You‘ll Do
  • Conduct assessments, intra‑oral photos, x‑rays, and all hygiene services independently.
  • Collaborate with a tele‑dentist via state‑of‑the‑art telehealth technology for chart review, diagnosis, and restorative treatment planning.
  • Prescribe antibiotics when necessary and with guidance from your collaborative dentist to help stabilize patients until they can be seen for restorative care.
  • Coordinate referrals for restorative care with local dental providers.
  • Perform scoop and fill procedures (training provided for those not yet certified).
  • Act as the Oral Health Champion in your assigned community settings — educating patients, colleagues, and community stakeholders on the importance of oral health.
  • Partner with medical providers to integrate oral health into primary care.
  • Manage your own schedule proactively, keeping access to care moving and patient flow on track.
  • Handle administrative responsibilities including insurance verification and electronic health records (both dental and medical EHR platforms).
  • Conduct community networking, outreach, and patient recruitment to grow your patient base.
What We Offer — Part Time Employees
  • $5,000 signing bonus.
