Expanded Practice Dental Hygienist

Atlanta Gentle Dental is looking for an Expanded Practice Dental Hygienist who is dedicated to providing excellent dental care in a comfortable and friendly environment. As an integral part of our team, the Expanded Practice Dental Hygienist will perform a variety of duties beyond traditional dental hygiene, utilizing their advanced skill sets in a supportive setting that prioritizes patient comfort and high-quality dental services.

This role involves direct patient care, comprehensive dental hygiene procedures, and the ability to work both independently and alongside dentists to implement effective, personalized treatments.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine dental cleanings and additional prophylactic procedures.
• Assess and document dental condition and patient needs, developing an effective care plan.
• Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation.
• Work autonomously when treating patients in absence of a dentist, as authorized.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, nutritional counseling).
• Take and interpret dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Manage care of patients with special needs or high medical risks as directed.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies and practices in dental hygiene.
