Salem Health is seeking Anesthesiologists to provide unscheduled anesthesia coverage at Salem Hospital. You will deliver high-quality anesthetic care across a broad range of surgical services while working in a collaborative care model alongside supervised Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs). This role supports surgical and emergency services in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment. Call responsibilities are included and scheduled based on departmental needs.

The Anesthesiology Department supports a high-volume surgical program at Salem Hospital, a 644-bed, not-for-profit Level II Trauma Center and Life Flight hub. Providers practice in a collaborative team environment with experienced CRNAs and access to advanced clinical resources. Salem offers a desirable location with easy access to the coast, mountains, and Portland metro area.
What you’ll do- Provide anesthetic care for surgical and procedural cases across multiple specialties.
- Collaborate with supervised Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) in a care team model.
- Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and post-anesthesia care coordination.
- Participate in call coverage as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with patient safety, quality, and hospital standards.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Completion of an anesthesiology residency accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
- Board Certification in Anesthesiology or ability to obtain within five years of training completion.
- Current, unrestricted Oregon medical license or ability to obtain.
- Current, unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.
- Minimum of 500 anesthesiology cases performed within the past 24 months.
- Compliance with the American Board of Anesthesiology Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology (MOCA) requirements.
- Preference may be given to candidates meeting current Continuing Medical Education (CME) standards in anesthesiology.
