Your role with us

Salem Health is seeking a full-time Urology Hospitalist to join our growing urology service. In this role, you will provide inpatient consultations, perform urgent and emergent surgical procedures, and support hospital-based urologic care. You will work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and operating room teams to ensure timely, high-quality patient care. This position focuses on hospital and urgent surgical coverage while helping strengthen continuity of care across the health system.

Urology Hospitalist

Located in Salem Hospital you'll provide comprehensive urologic services. The team includes urologists, advanced practice providers, and dedicated support staff practicing in a collaborative environment. Providers have access to modern operating rooms, advanced surgical technology, and strong interdisciplinary support.

What you'll do
  • Provide inpatient urology consultations and manage hospitalized patients requiring urologic care.
  • Perform urgent and emergent operating room-based urologic procedures.
  • Complete outpatient urgent surgical cases as appropriate.
  • Participate in after-hours call, including inpatient rounding and urgent surgical coverage.
  • Document clinical care accurately and submit billing activity in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate in the development of urology service protocols, order sets, and clinical guidelines.
  • Support growth of the urology referral base through hospital-based clinical presence.
Required Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited program.
  • Completion of an accredited urology residency program.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Oregon or ability to obtain prior to start.
  • Current, unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.
  • Board Certification in Urology through the American Board of Urology or ability to obtain within five years of residency or fellowship completion.
Additional Information
  • Experience performing a broad range of urologic surgical procedures preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean methodology preferred.
