CORBAN'S MISSION:
To educate Christians who will make a difference in the world for Jesus Christ.

SUMMARY:

Primary responsibility is teaching undergraduate and graduate Bible courses, especially New Testament, hermeneutics, and occasional special topics classes. This full-time position includes teaching twenty-four credits per year. The successful candidate will be able to champion School of Ministry programs and teach the subject matter in a manner that fully embraces the university's Statement of Faith. CHARACTER:
Faculty candidates must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and evidence a mature Christian faith. Ministry candidates must meet the biblical qualifications for ministry. Candidates must agree by conviction with the University's statement of faith and be able to sign the Chicago Statement on Inerrancy. Candidates need to be willing to invest themselves in the development of their students.

Candidates should also evidence good relationship skills necessary to function effectively on the School of Ministry team. Corban University faculty are expected to be active scholars, excellent teachers, active in service to the university and the community, and able to model the integration of faith and learning.

ESSSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Work collaboratively with his/her colleagues and the Administration

* Actively participate in at least one faculty and/or institutional committee

* Is present on campus and available to staff, students and colleagues by posting and maintaining adequate office hours each week

* Regularly attend faculty functions and make meaningful contributions

* Regularly attend departmental functions and participate in meaningful ways

* Cooperate with University program scheduling needs through availability to teach classes in the evening, weekends, at extensions, and at other off-campus sites, and at times during the normal school day when needed

* Participate in teaching online courses as needed

* Follow policies and procedures set forth in the campus handbooks, such as, but not limited to, the Employee Handbook, the Instructional Handbook, and the Faculty Handbook

* Advise students

* Develop course schedules and syllabi

* Develop course content using current pedagogical understanding

* Identify and meet the learning needs of students

* Perform biblical integration in line with Corban's Statement of Faith

* Participate in School of Ministry global initiatives

* Work closely with the School of Ministry team to accomplish its mission

* Engage in service compatible with the university's mission both inside and outside of Corban University

* Maintain a high level of professional competence and to keep abreast of developments in their respective fields

KNOWLEDGE,

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

* Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with University administration, faculty, students, staff, and other constituent groups and partners, both within and outside the University; creating space and safety for opposing viewpoints to be heard and considered.

* Strong oral and written communication skills; exemplary analytical, strategic and critical thinking skills.

* Excellent interpersonal skills and keen emotional intelligence.

* Understanding of contemporary issues in higher education, including 21st century student learning trends, national and disciplinary academic and industry trends especially in the context of Christian higher education and the marketplace.

* Ability to develop innovative pedagogies and platforms for engaged learning.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

* Ph.D. in Biblical Studies or New Testament from a regionally accredited or an Association of Theological accredited institution is required. Ph.D.'s in OT or closely related fields with significant Bible teaching experience in a collegiate setting will be considered.

* Significant vocational ministry and formal teaching experience are required. The role also values skills in discipleship, cross-cultural competency, classroom technology, online teaching, and preaching.
