PCG’s Education Consulting service line seeks a Multilingual Learners Subject Matter Expert to support the Curriculum Development and Implementation Business Line.

PCG seeks an experienced multilingual learners subject matter expert to help PCG and school districts/state departments of education across the nation improve student outcomes and instructional practices, guide district policies related to the provision of supports for multilingual learners, and support the development and implementation of high-quality curriculum and professional development. The Multilingual Learners Subject Matter Expert will actively lead and participate in the design, development, and delivery of instructional materials to support the achievement of multilingual learners and will support teachers and district/state department of education leaders to implement related instructional practices.

Specific responsibilities and skill/experience requirements are detailed below. This is a full‑time, remote role, with occasional in‑person meetings. Some travel may be required.

PCG’s Education Consulting Service Line works with states, districts, and schools to address a wide spectrum of needs such as curriculum development, instructional resources audits, design and facilitation of professional development and professional learning communities, school improvement, and program reviews.

Our portfolio features several large‑scale projects that have included the development of explicit scaffolds to support multilingual learners. Since 2019, we’ve partnered with Chicago Public Schools on their Skyline curriculum initiative, in which we developed a full‑year, standards‑aligned digital curriculum for PK–12 English Language Arts and mathematics. Since developing the curriculum, we have continued to provide asynchronous and synchronous professional learning to teachers and administrators to support Skyline implementation.

We also collaborated with the district to create a guidance document describing expectations and instructional practices for teachers implementing Skyline with multilingual learners. The framework supported teacher development by providing digestible, research‑based practices that were appropriate across content areas and grade levels. In Florida, we’ve developed a K–5 ELA curriculum with Pinellas County Schools and a K–2 ELA curriculum with the School District of Lee County to support their transition to the new Florida B.E.S.T standards.

Further, we’ve partnered with the New York City Department of Education to develop thirty‑nine K–12 mini‑units for the district’s Hidden Voices Initiative and facilitated licensing for the district’s K–12 Passport to Social Studies curriculum and several instructional guides.

Currently, we are partnering with the Texas Education Agency to develop and/or revise several curricula to respond to stakeholder feedback, align to the TEKS standards, and reflect the state’s indicators of quality, including K–5 English Language Arts and Reading, K–5 Spanish Language Arts, K–5 Mathematics, K–5 Mathematics Spanish, K–5 Social Studies, and K–3 Spanish Skills. Most recently, we kicked off development of a Positive Character Traits curriculum.
