MISSION:
To educate Christians who will make a difference in the world for Jesus Christ.

SUMMARY:

The Graduate Resident Assistant (GRA) supports the Area Coordinator in the holistic development of students by fostering a safe, spiritually formative, academically supportive, and community-oriented campus environment. As a member of the Student Life team, the GRA serves as a role model committed to the university's mission, values, and doctrinal commitments. Responsibilities include commuter student care, community development, crisis response, policy enforcement, program leadership, and administrative support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Community Building & Student Development

* Cultivate a welcoming, and Christ-centered campus atmosphere.

* Build positive relationships with students through regular presence.

* Encourage involvement in campus life, discipleship, and academic support programs.

* Always model Christian character and professionalism.

Spiritual Formation

* Facilitate spiritual opportunities such as small groups, devotionals, and prayer gatherings.

* Support students in their faith journey with encouragement and discernment.

Programming & Educational Initiatives

* Help plan and facilitate monthly programs that support students' learning, community building, and spiritual growth.

* Engage students in events that support holistic development.

* Promote campus-wide learning initiatives.

Student Support & Conflict Management

* Provide guidance to students experiencing personal, academic, or relational challenges.

* Use listening, mediation, and restorative practices to resolve conflicts.

* Refer students to appropriate campus support services.

Policy Enforcement & Safety

* Communicate and uphold student life policies and Corban University community expectations.

* Serve in the on-call rotation with Area Coordinators for emergency and after-hours needs.

* Conduct rounds and safety checks to maintain a secure environment.

Administrative Responsibilities

* Attend weekly team meetings, training, and supervisory check-ins.

* Complete timely reports, programming documentation, and communications.

* Assist with hall openings, closings, and operational tasks.

Training:

* All GRAs must attend training in early August and January before students return.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Preferred:

* Previous experience in student life, student leadership, student ministry, or student support roles.

* Experience in conflict resolution, mentoring, or group facilitation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor's degree

* Must be enrolled in a graduate program at Corban University or qualify and be accepted into a Student Development graduate program at a CCCU institution and maintain good academic standing.

* Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

* Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion, empathy, and professionalism.

* Faithful Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the university's mission as described in our Statement of Faith

* On-call responsibilities are required one week per month during the academic year.

* Candidates should value an environment that reflects the diversity of God's kingdom, engages with global issues, and builds meaningful cultural connections.

* GRA's must live in provided on-campus housing.

COMPENSATION:
This is a residential position with compensation provided in the form of 100% room and meal plan paid by Corban University

WORKING CONDITIONS:

* Evening and weekend work as required by student life operations.

* Attendance at on- and off-campus events during non-business hours is an expected part of the role.
