Drafting Instructor

JOB INFORMATION

This position focuses on delivering instruction within the Drafting Technology program, specifically teaching CAD-related courses, developing curriculum, and providing academic advising while maintaining professional contacts in the industry.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Instructional Program Responsibilities

* Develops, modifies, and updates curriculum materials and recommends course outline revisions

* Recommends textbooks, instructional materials, and library/reference resources

* Contributes suggestions for the annual department budget and maintains college facilities and equipment

* Assists Advisory Committees and represents the department at pertinent meetings

Instruction

* Teaches CAD courses including architectural drafting, Revit, and AutoCAD; and other general drafting classes.

* Provides students with course syllabi and maintains records of grades and attendance.

* Delivers instruction in a variety of modalities to meet program and student needs including face-to-face, remote, hybrid, and/or online

* Posts and maintains office hours and provides academic advising/homework assistance.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate of Science degree in Drafting Technology

* AND
- Five years of work experience as an Architectural Drafter

* AND
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit software

* AND
- Evidence of successful previous teaching experience at the college level

Core Competencies

* Demonstrable experience providing culturally responsive instruction

* Bicultural/multicultural skills sufficient to select appropriate behaviors, values and attitudes within different cultures during interactions with others

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with Sketchup, Microstation, ArcGIS (or equivalent), and/or Bluebeam software.

* Bilingual English/Spanish

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

* This is a 100%, 172 Duty Day faculty assignment of the F9 band and grade

* All positions at Chemeketa are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college.

* Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends

* This position may require the use of your personal vehicle for transportation between campus locations
