Special Programs Instructional Assistant - ESSA
.
Purpose:
To improve student achievement by assisting a licensed teacher in the planning and implementation of an educational program, including individualized education programs (IEPs). Assigned educational programs may include both general and special education settings.
- Assist a licensed teacher in planning and implementing educational programs, including IEPs.
- Support students in general and special education settings as assigned.
- Rides the bus before and after school for medically fragile students in the MDLC program; work closely with the special education teacher, the instructional assistant team, and specialists such as physical, occupational, and speech therapists.

Yes - What is ESSA? The federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) works to support equal opportunity for disadvantaged students and eliminate barriers to student success. ESSA requires all paraprofessionals working in a Title I funded school to meet certain proficiency in reading, writing and math.
