Classroom Assistant

This is a part-time hourly pool. Applications are collected for possible immediate, or future college vacancies. This type of employment is temporary and often sporadic. You may only be contacted if a review of your application results in the intent to pursue your candidacy.

• Assists in ensuring safe working practices
• Assists in the classroom for proper use and care of tools
• Assists the instructor in ensuring that class endings are orderly and complete, and that tools and supplies are returned to the proper storage
• Assists in the preparation of facilities and materials for the classroom
• Assists in maintaining clean work areas and classrooms
• Assists in the distribution and maintenance of supplies used in the training area
• Other duties as assigned

High School Diploma/GED and one term of experience in the program classroom.

• Ability to communicate with students and staff to convey technical information
• Bicultural/multicultural skills sufficient to select appropriate behaviors, values and attitudes within different cultures during interactions with others

• Classroom support experience
• Bilingual English/Spanish

• Part-time hourly positions will not exceed 900 working hours per fiscal year
• All positions require availability for work onsite as requested
• Flexible work schedule may include evenings and/or weekends
• May require use of personal vehicle for transportation between campus locations
• Must supply official transcripts within 30 days of hire
• Must maintain residency in Oregon, Washington or Idaho
• Successful applicants must pass a background inquiry; providing false information will result in rejection or dismissal

Sedentary work with occasional lifting up to 10 pounds.
