Library Specialist - ESSA

PURPOSE

The Library Specialist plays a vital role in fostering a dynamic learning environment for students by facilitating library classes, collaborating with teachers to support the curriculum, and conducting library-related presentations and events. Responsibilities also include managing library materials, inventory management, and maintaining the physical library space to ensure a welcoming and organized atmosphere. The Library Specialist also provides reference assistance to students and staff.

What is ESSA?

The Library Specialist requires understanding of the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). ESSA works to support equal opportunity for disadvantaged students and eliminate barriers to student success. ESSA requires all paraprofessionals working in a Title I funded school to meet certain proficiency in reading, writing and math.
