Senior CAD Technician

Join the Construction Engineering Services Practice located in Salem, OR, with the option to work remotely.

We’re looking for a skilled Senior CAD Technician who thrives in a collaborative environment and is excited to contribute to the design and construction of vital transportation projects such as roads, highways, and bridges.

What You’ll Do

Produce detailed CAD drawings, layouts, and graphics for a variety of transportation projects, including roadway design, curb ramps, and more.
Translate engineering markups into polished construction documents, maintaining precision and consistency.
Produce plan sets with minimal direction and work independently.
Coordinate and lead CAD production on project teams.
Use state‑of‑the‑art software such as AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Micro Station, Open Roads Designer, and Bluebeam.
Support design tasks under the direction of licensed engineers using industry standards.
Maintain structured drawing files, adhere to company drafting standards, and support project‑specific standards as needed.
Collaborate through file‑sharing systems like Project Wise and participate in quality‑assurance reviews.
Track quantities, update contract drawings, and contribute to project success within scope, budget, and schedule.
Review all work for completeness and accuracy and participate in company‑ and project‑driven quality‑control and assurance processes.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of drafting experience with a focus on civil engineering projects.
Proficiency in Micro Station/Open Roads and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
Ability to collaborate across disciplines and prioritize and manage workloads to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with transportation projects, including the Department of Transportation and/or other local agencies, including ODOT.
Associate of Applied Science in Civil Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.
Strong communication skills and a passion for precision.
