CAD Technician

Position in our Transportation team (Construction Engineering Services Practice).

Location:

Salem, OR, remote possible.

What You’ll Do
  • Produce detailed CAD drawings, layouts, and graphics for a variety of transportation projects including roadway design, curb ramps, and similar assets.
  • Translate engineering markups into polished construction documents, maintaining precision and consistency.
  • Use state‑of‑the‑art software such as AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Micro Station, Open Roads Designer, and Bluebeam.
  • Support design tasks under the direction of licensed engineers and follow industry standards.
  • Maintain structured drawing files, adhere to company drafting standards, and support project‑specific standards as needed.
  • Collaborate through file‑sharing systems such as Project Wise and participate in quality‑assurance reviews.
  • Track quantities, update contract drawings, and contribute to project success within scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Review all work for completeness and accuracy and participate in company‑ and project‑driven quality control and assurance processes.
Required Qualifications
  • 0–3 years of drafting experience.
  • Experience with Micro Station/Open Roads and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with transportation projects, including the Department of Transportation and/or other local agencies such as ODOT.
  • Associate of Applied Science in Civil Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for precision.
