CAD Technician

Position in our Transportation team (Construction Engineering Services Practice).

Location:

Salem, OR, remote possible.

What You’ll Do

Produce detailed CAD drawings, layouts, and graphics for a variety of transportation projects including roadway design, curb ramps, and similar assets.
Translate engineering markups into polished construction documents, maintaining precision and consistency.
Use state‑of‑the‑art software such as AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Micro Station, Open Roads Designer, and Bluebeam.
Support design tasks under the direction of licensed engineers and follow industry standards.
Maintain structured drawing files, adhere to company drafting standards, and support project‑specific standards as needed.
Collaborate through file‑sharing systems such as Project Wise and participate in quality‑assurance reviews.
Track quantities, update contract drawings, and contribute to project success within scope, budget, and schedule.
Review all work for completeness and accuracy and participate in company‑ and project‑driven quality control and assurance processes.

Required Qualifications

0–3 years of drafting experience.
Experience with Micro Station/Open Roads and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
Ability to collaborate across disciplines and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with transportation projects, including the Department of Transportation and/or other local agencies such as ODOT.
Associate of Applied Science in Civil Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
Strong communication skills and a passion for precision.

Potential salary range: $28.00/hr – $41.00/hr the posted range represents the typical range for this position and is provided in accordance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
