We currently have an opening for Engineering Technician I in our Sentran, located in Salem, Oregon. This position supports engineering development activities by assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting electronic components under the guidance of engineering staff.
Details of the Role:The position of Engineering Technician I assists in building, testing, and evaluating electronic assemblies and prototypes. Daily tasks include interpreting work instructions, assembling small components, performing basic electrical measurements, collecting data, and supporting engineering laboratory activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Draft and Model new drawings:
Assist in creating drawings for new and existing products using CAD software. - Update Existing Drawings:
Ensure existing drawings are updated to the most recent format with attention to detail and accuracy. - Drafting and Modifying Schematics:
Update and generate electrical schematics and winding diagrams using CAD software. - Updating Documentation:
Revise technical drawings, bills of materials (BOM), and manufacturing packages based on markups and engineering change orders. - Quality Control Reviews:
Verify drawing accuracy against manufacturing tolerances, customer specifications, and industry standards. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Communicate with manufacturing, purchasing, and sales teams to ensure drafted designs can be efficiently and cost-effectively built.
- Experience with Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field.
- Working knowledge of industry-standard drafting software, such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, or Alibre.
- Ability to interpret and translate engineering blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical schematics into updated drafts.
