What You’ll Do

  • Applies knowledge to understand potential tax issues.
  • Evaluates and selects alternative actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance.
  • Recognizes and communicates potential risks.
  • Identifies potential changes in the tax policy and applies new policies to tax compliance.
  • Assists in handling routine questions from federal or state agencies.
  • Serves as primary contact for clients, including preparing and presenting presentations.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or other relevant field.
  • 2+ years of prior experience in state, local, or multistate tax.
Preferred
  • Master’s degree in Accounting/Taxation or J.D.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Ability to use standard tax applications and research tools.
  • Passed, conditioned, or qualified to take the CPA Exam (preferred).
  • Passed, conditioned, or qualified to take the CMI Exam (preferred).
  • Passed, conditioned, or qualified to take the Bar Exam (preferred).
What Sets You Apart
  • Working knowledge of appropriate application of tax standards.
  • Knowledge of sources of relevant information used in tax filings.
  • Understanding of cause and effect for taxable conditions on clients and potential tax issues.
  • Basic understanding of representing clients before tax authorities on contested issues.
  • Ability to create written tax advice.
  • Assistance in business development.
Compensation
  • Salary range: $90,000 - $120,000.
  • Final offer based on location, experience, skills, licensure, and business need.
