Job DescriptionThe Office of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for enterprise-wide fiscal planning and policy leadership. The CFO prepares the Governor’s recommended budget, represents the Governor’s budget and interim budget recommendations in the legislative process, and provides guidance, training and direction to ensure fiscal integrity and consistency across state agencies.
What You’ll DoAs the CFO Executive Assistant within the Administration section, you will provide executive level support to the Chief Financial Officer and all teams within the policy sections of OSC, SABRS and CFPS. Duties include the administration and coordination of office operations and statewide budget communications, representing the Chief Financial Office to state agencies, the Legislature, and other elected officials, and external entities outside state government.
Qualifications- One year of experience performing administrative duties in support of agency projects or programs.
- Experience with data collection and analysis, project evaluation or interpretation and application of laws, rules, and regulations.
- Prior experience in state or local government programs providing administrative support.
- Demonstrated ability to manage tight deadlines with a high volume and changing priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Independent judgment, organizational skills, decision‑making, and problem resolution in administrative support functions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality when required.
- Knowledge of research techniques sufficient to collect, analyze, interpret, and report data in narrative and statistical format.
Preference will be given to those with experience providing executive support to Directors, Administrators, Executives and similar C‑Suite roles, and prior knowledge in budget development and legislative processes.

This position supports a hybrid work schedule with approximately 2‑3 days per week in office.
- This is a full‑time, permanent, unrepresented position (Executive Support Specialist
2). - Salary listed is the non‑PERS qualifying range. PERS qualifying candidates will receive an additional 6.95% increase.
