The Oregon State Police in Springfield, Oregon is hiring for one (1) full‑time, permanent Administrative Specialist 1 position. The role requires establishing procedures and policy development processes, interpreting agency protocols and Oregon Revised Statutes, providing administrative, operational and program support to area commands and worksites—including the Patrol, Criminal and Fish and Wildlife Divisions—and training troopers in office procedures. Candidates will prioritize daily and weekly workloads to support the agency’s strategic goals and ensure accurate, timely completion with minimal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications / Eligibility Requirements- Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data.
- Or an associate degree in general office occupations and one year of experience with records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, databases, auditing reports, and quality assurance.
- Effective time management skills.
- Attention to detail for problem identification, review, solution evaluation and implementation.
- Analytical problem‑solving, critical thinking, and adaptability.
- Experience providing customer service to a variety of individuals in challenging circumstances.
- Must be LEDS certified at the Inquiry and Entry levels, or obtain certification within six months of hire.
- Must be able to meet criteria to become a State of Oregon Notary Public.
- May be required to participate in state‑sponsored training to become a SPOTS card holder for the assigned office and attend necessary training.
