Description
Under the general direction of the Director of Behavioral Health, the Behavioral Health Provider will provide behavioral health services at North Shore Community Health both in-person and via telehealth. As a team member at our health center, you will work with staff who are racially, ethnically, and culturally diverse, so being culturally competent is required. This position is open to full-time, part-time, and fee-for-service candidates.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Provides intake, diagnostic assessment, and treatment planning to primary care North Shore Community Health patients with chronic medical, behavioral health, and/or substance use conditions.
- Provides outpatient psychotherapy services (individual, family, group).
- Uses standardized tools and clinical judgment to support/ diagnose mental health issues (i.e., PTSD, Major Depression).
- Uses screening tools to assess for mental health issues, suicidality, substance use disorders, etc. (GAD, PHQ-9).
- Uses evidence-based therapeutic techniques to help patients during their treatment (CBT, DBT).
- Helps coordinate care for patients and identify barriers to access care, and refer for needed support services.
- Educates patients around symptom management, coping skills, stress management techniques.
- Provides crisis intervention.
- Provides consultation to primary care and dental staff pertaining to behavioral health needs of their patients.
- Shares best practices and expertise with NSCH staff.
- Meets documentation standards in a timely fashion using the electronic health record for each patient contact.
- Attends in-service trainings for ongoing licensure requirement.
- Complies with all policies for compliance and documentation.
- Participates in supervision and team and staff meetings, as appropriate.
- Participates on committees and task forces as appropriate.
- Enjoys and works effectively in a culture of collaboration, ongoing change, and commitment to racial equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Requirements
- Licensed and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of MA (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, LADAC, LCSW).
- New graduates (including LCSW) are welcome to apply and will be paired with an experienced clinician for supervision and mentorship.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills with individuals and/or groups.
- Experience in Electronic Health Records (Epic preferred) and in Microsoft Office.
- Maintains strict adherence to the NSCH Confidentiality policy.
- Incorporates NSCH values, principles, and mission statement into daily activities.
- Complies with all NSCH personnel policies and procedures.
- Self-motivated and self-directed to work within a team and work independently.
- Certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) preferred.
- Maintains CEUs to meet professional organization requirements and/or licensure.
- Bilingual Spanish or Portuguese preferred, not required.
- Timely completion of required trainings (e.g., NSCH Compliance Training).
